Guide to the Dorian City of Lato, Crete, Greece

Shops / Workshops / Commercial Buildings

Between the southern edge (right hand side) of the street and a late rampart to the south there are numerous buildings that would have housed the shops or workshops of traders and craftsmen. Excavations have revealed evidence of iron working, a dyehouse and pottery production within these industrial and commercial structures. The pictures of this, the southern, side of the steps are spread over two pages, starting at the bottom near Lato's main gate.
